There is hardly a day passes without that there has been a technological breakthrough, and today is no exception. Scientists at the Japanese chemical company Teijin and Yamaguchi University claim they have found a way to produce LCD TV screens weighing half of the TV we know today.
The problem with conventional LCD TV screens is that the heat evolution requires a thicker screen, so that it can withstand impact. By coat the screen with a heat resistant material you can use plastic instead of glass. Not only weighs less plastic than glass, but the LCD Television does not need as robust a framework. The company plans to commercialize the technology within the next three years.
