Samsung takes aim at iPad mini with new Galaxy Note 8.0

It looks like the rumors were true. Samsung sent out a press release last night announcing the launch of its new Galaxy Note 8.0. The 8-inch tablet is clearly aimed right at the iPad mini, which has done very well thus far for Apple.
And it certainly came prepared to play. As expected, the slate features a 1280×800 (720p) display—just a hair better than the mini—a quad core processor, 2GB of RAM, and oh yeah, it makes phone calls. More details after the break.....Read More>>

Samsung launches Corby TV and Metro TV in India

Samsung has launched two new TV-enabled devices for the ever-growing mobile market of India. The new phones include Corby TV and Metro TV, both of which come with a pre-installed application that allows watching of Live TV and other video content.

Speaking of the application, it’s called MimobiTV Mobile TV and it was developed by Apalya, giving users access to on-demand content from more than 40 channels on both CDMA 1X and 3G networks. Existing Corby Speed (CDMA-based Corby) users can upgrade their phones for free and get the software on their device, too.

Specs wise, the CDMA-based Corby TV rocks a 2.8-inch QVGA touchscreen, OMH support (SIM cards for CDMA networks), 2-megapixel camera, FM Radio, Bluetooth and a microSD memory card slot. The price of the phone is set at Rs. 9,699.

As for the Metro TV, it comes with a 2-inch screen, 2-megapixel camera, mobile tracker, FM Radio, microSD expansion slot, and support for 9 Indian regional languages. Samsung is selling the device for Rs. 6,999…

Samsung will sell 35 million. TV in 2010

TV viewers must choose Samsung, and it must do 35 million times in 2010.

The South Korean electronics giant has set a target to sell 35 million LCD flat-screen TV in years, including 10 million of LED model, where small baggrundslysdioder ensures a sharper image and lower power consumption. Additionally, sold four million plasma screens.

Analysts believe that the whole will be a growth of 30 percent in foorhold to 2009, as Samsung has not yet published figures.

LED televisions are more than ten percent of Samsung's total LCD sales in 2009.

Samsung also announced at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas - the world's largest fair for consumer electronics - the world's first HDTV programming shop where you can buy and download software from the news and games for Twitter and Blockbuster movie rental on select Samsung models.
